Esthetics Grants
Types of Esthetics Grants
Esthetics grants are given to students based on their needs. Each student may qualify but only those who are in a financial situation where they cannot afford full tuition, will grants be provided. A standard formula is used to determine the cost of educational expenses and what the family can afford to pay. Educational expenses include the cost of tuition, books, supplies, room and board and other applicable fees. What the family can afford to pay depends mostly on their income and assets. Esthetician grants also depend on the individual school and its location. As each state has a different esthetician qualification, so do their financial aid determinations.
In one northeastern esthetician school, an average cost of tuition is over $10,000. Fifty nine percent of students received a federal grant of less than $1,000; Five percent of students received a state or local grant of less than $2,000. Eleven percent of students received and institutional grant such as a fellowship or scholarship of less than $500.
On the west coast, another esthetician school tuition fee was over $14,000 where thirty five percent of students received a federal grand of a little more than $4,000; Seven percent received state and local also getting a little more than $4,000. One percent received institutional grants getting a little less than $6,000.
Students must be a U.S. citizen who is enrolled into the school as a full time student. Grades must be maintained at a certain level to complete the program. Usually an average of 3.0 or above is required. Students must not be absent from classes more than the given allowance. Any grants that are given to students must be used only for tuition purposes.
As there are different types of esthetician grants available, it is best to speak to a financial aid administrator to help.
