Get Esthetician Salary
There are more esthetic fields now due to new innovative technologies and advancements that continue to grow. Therefore, there are more opportunities in the esthetic field than ever.
An esthetician salary can be very good as long as you have the proper training and certificate required for your specific field. As in most industries, an esthetician salary usually starts off on the lower end. The esthetician salary depends mainly on where you live and the position you are hired for. Larger cities pay more than smaller towns. There are some instances where you could make a higher esthetician salary if you are hired in a more elite salon or medical facility.
In some states, however, an entry-level cosmetologist can make as little as minimum wage. If you have a little bit of experience, you can expect about $3 above the minimum. With more experience you can make anywhere from $35k to $55k a year. The best possible esthetician salary would be if you decided to go into business for yourself where the possibilities could be endless. By owning your own salon, naturally, you would make much more than someone in an entry level position. However, becoming your own boss requires advanced education. You would need to take courses in business, sales and customer service. Although there are more requirements, the rewards of owning your own business are gratifying.
A base pay for an esthetician salary can be substantially higher with commission. With commission alone, a cosmetologist can earn anywhere from $200 to $500 in addition to their salaries. This is based on the type of work performed and the number of clients the cosmetologist has.
It is important for the esthetician to build a good relationship with the customer. This field is based on clientele and as long as you have a good number of dedicated customers, the more secure your job is.
