The cosmetologist must also advise customers and conduct a number of other duties. Hair and makeup trends and fashions are always being updated. Therefore, another aspect of the job of a cosmetologies is to adhere to these trends and use all the appropriate equipment, whether it is for hair straightening, nail sculpting or facial masks.
Since the cosmetologist works with clients who want to improve their appearance, it is up to them to know how to make this happen. The esthetician career descriptions for a medical esthetician varies from the cosmetologist and the massage and body work therapist primarily because the medical esthetician is a doctor, nurses or other health care provider. As such, medical estheticians work in either an office of the doctor, hospital or other health care facility. They are trained to handle procedures such as acne treatment, chemical peels, Botox and wound healing or scarring treatment to name a few.
Being an esthetician is both a gratifying and rewarding career because you are enhancing the appearance of an individual by giving them more self-confidence and self esteem.
